As Senator, Lee Jones will fight for a healthcare system that provides affordable access to all Americans.  Lee Jones knows that people throughout Kansas are concerned about healthcare.  Many families are just one catastrophic illness away from financial and emotional ruin.  Insurance is expensive and premiums continue to rise.  If a family member contracts a chronic illness it is nearly impossible to get any valuable insurance coverage.  Preexisting conditions either cost too much or completely disqualify applicants.

REAL HEALTHCARE IS AN AMERICAN RIGHT!

America's healthcare system must provide REAL healthcare for every man, woman and child.  Families without insurance must be able to get coverage at an affordable price.  Families with insurance must be able to pay less while receiving more security and more choices. Businesses and employers must find it cheaper and easier to insure their workers.

LEE JONES believes all Kansans can have affordable healthcare if we:

• Make insurance more affordable
  • New tax credits
  • Expand Medicaid and SCHIP
  • Reform insurance laws
  • Take steps to contain healthcare costs
• Create regional "Healthcare Markets"
  • Widen the insurance pool and let all Americans share collective benefits   
  • Increase choices among insurance plans
  • Dramatically cut costs for businesses offering insurance
• Require businesses and employers to cover employees or help finance employee health insurance.
• Require Healthcare Insurers pay at least 85% of their premiums on patient care.

If we do all of these things, all Kansas residents can obtain affordable insurance.  These cost savings measures could save the average insured Kansan between $2,000 and $2,500 each year!
